My career in the photography industry began over 30 years ago, but my fascination with still and moving pictures began much earlier. Childhood afternoons were spent directing and shooting movies with neighborhood kids in the swampy suburban outskirts of North Tampa. My grandfather, an avid photographer himself, taught me composition and film editing. I obtained a degree in Visual Communications from the University of South Florida while concurrently acting as photo editor of the college newspaper and apprenticing with other commercial photographers. Since then, I have shot politicians, athletes, baggage handlers, clothing, fashion models, multi-million dollar homes, CEO's, kids, food, restaurants, hotels, casinos, actors, doctors, swat teams, mobsters and car dealers, in every conceivable way possible.
Every photograph I take today is the culmination of hundreds of conscious and subconscious decisions made before, during and after the actual capture, guided by my life's experiences, intuition and technical knowledge. My goals include a continued dedication to illustrating brand messages through all forms of still and moving mediums.
I am a father, husband, do-it-your-selfer, avid ultimate Frisbee player, and youth coach. I eat scrambled eggs every morning laid by one of my multiple chickens. By many people's standards, I consume entirely too much visual content but I rationalize that given the lack of most other vices. Although based in Tampa, FL, I return to the mountains of Western North Carolina as often as possible to continue work on a tiny cabin. You can see the early stages here.
