Steve Widoff

My grandfather was my inspiration. He taught me photographic composition and how to drive a stick shift car when I was 10. As an enthusiastic teen, I made super8 movies using my friends as actors in the swampy rural (at that time) outskirts of Tampa.

Since claiming photography as a career, I’ve created images of and for politicians, athletes, baggage handlers, fashion models, multi-million dollar homes, CEO's, kids, food, hotels, casinos, actors, doctors, swat teams, and mobsters.

Oh, by the way, my clients say some pretty nice things about me too. Things like “grace under pressure”, “he makes my work look better than my vision”, “artistic, crafty, thoughtful” and “heck, he's all pro”.

I am a do-it-yourself-er, father, husband, and a competitive ultimate frisbee player.

In 2020, my wife Wendy and I sold 95% of everything we owned and I followed our dream of living in the mountains of North Carolina. We have 9 acres at approx 4200' and are building (by hand) a tiny cabin we concurrently live in. We collect rainwater in giant cisterns and love keeping our carbon footprint small. We now notice the subtle shifts in the position of sun and the location of the stars. Wendy would be happy to tell you what moon phase we are in.
